Alcohol, a tight suit, assumptions, and defensiveness go together too often. (And a tight suit can look like a bandanna, too.) It makes me sad that someone would feel like it's okay to ogle a nursing mom, but in these days of the news-cycle, does it surprise me? No.
On the one hand, I celebrate what you did. On the other, I probably would have approached them differently. But I'm sure I would have approached them. I'm all about shaming people who are cruel in that way, and I can be pretty good at it - not that I'm proud of it!
Trolls exist in real life too, and they don't deserve to be fed there either.
THIS is the blog that began as a magazine, THE MOTHERHOOD MAGAZINE.
Born March of '06, in Maplewood, NJ, we covered local and national issues important to families of every shape and color for three years.
NOW we publish online, as a blog (just like everybody else).
Be sure to check out The Modern Village, our Continuing Ed series for parents and our 365 day web project, The Parent du Jour, both found at www.the-modern-village.com.
