WE WON THE CLOROX BLOG-OFF!

THANK YOU!

Thanks to to everyone who visited this blog last week to watch Clorox' funny new commercial.

Thanks to your clicky, sticky fingers WE WON SECOND PRIZE!  — A YEAR'S SUPPLY OF CLOROX PRODUCTS!

As promised, we will be donating our prize to the wonderful people of The Interfaith Hospitality Network of Essex County, New Jersey. Our contact at IHN was so pleased to hear the news and said, "This will come in quite handy for our families." Here's IHN"s mission statement:

"We help homeless families — parents and children — who are in need of shelter. We give them a place to stay and three meals a day by housing them at our network of churches and synagogues. While they’re in our shelter network, we work with moms and dads on a plan that addresses the issues that led to their homelessness. Goals are set and parents are compassionately guided to take the steps necessary to find a home and become self-sufficient."

IHN helps to do more than just provide emergency shelter. They offer a host of programs that help families help themselves.

YOU can continue to help by donating your time, money or resources to IHN.

Every little bit you give can make a big difference to these mothers and fathers that are working hard to get back on their feet.  Click this link to learn how easy it is to make a difference.

*A note from Lisa
CLOROX's new commercial is funny. My eight year-old daughter loves it and I LOL'd.
But I was worried. Was it laughing with dads—or at them?  So I asked my friend Matt Schneider, co-organizer of NYCDadsGroup what he thought. Matt gave the video a resounding thumbs up:
"I think It shows Dads parenting—they aren't daunted by the fact that Mom is leaving, they have a great time with their children, and they're able to competently care for kids and home. Most importantly, Dads aren't portrayed as bumbling fools leaving a big mess for Mom to clean up."
We'd love to hear your thoughts on the video, too. Please leave a comment on the blog and we'll forward your comments to Clorox.
